The Department for Communities is working with HM Treasury, Fair4All Finance and the other devolved administrations to support delivery of a No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) Pilot which will include Northern Ireland as a pilot location. Fair4All Finance is hosting 2 webinars as part of the NILS market engagement phase. The webinars will provide information about the scheme, the strategy behind it and why organisations should get involved!

A NILS market engagement and procurement process is commencing shortly and this will be structured to encourage joint bids from lenders in partnership with a local agency(ies) such as housing associations or local Councils, which could act as both a point of contact for customer referrals and funding partners.

The market engagement phase over the next few months will also seek to gather feedback on the scheme design and aim to identify local delivery partners. Webinars have been scheduled for 21st and 28th September hosted by Fair4All Finance to discuss this in greater detail, including the upcoming procurement process for local delivery partners.

    Keeping Adults Safe: Adult Safeguarding Champion and Appointed Person Training. The Adult Safeguarding Champion role combines responsibility for strategy, operations and oversight for an organisation in relation to adults at risk of harm under “Adult Safeguarding: Prevention and Protection in Partnership” (2015) and the “Adult Safeguarding Operational Procedures” (2016). Some organisations will also have Appointed Persons, with delegated responsibility for day to day adult safeguarding operations.
